In 1979, Japanese electronics engineer Susumu Tamura designed the Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer to compete with the Boss OD-1.

His unique soft-clip overdrive circuit went on to become one of the most copied, cloned, and modified guitar effects of all time.

Known for its midrange clarity and organic, tube-like tone, the “808” quickly became the amp-pushing pedal for countless guitarists - including a soon-to-be legendary blues player from Texas named Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Designed for players who worship at the altar of tone, Source Code builds upon the strengths of the classic “green box” while offering novel improvements that enhance the original circuit & expand its capabilities into new sonic realms.

Multi-transistor input buffer preserves your guitar’s natural tone, while the exclusive “Magic IC” OpAmp injects complex harmonics and an amp-like feel that responds to every nuance of your playing.

The all-new “BITE” control lets you alter the balance of odd and even-order harmonics: at higher settings, it shifts from symmetrical to asymmetrical clipping, emulating the saturation and feel of high-gain tube amps.
